When I was working on the Animal One-Minute Stories series, my goal was to create stories for children, their parents, and animal-loving adults that would not only entertain but also teach, because learning is much easier when it is fun. Alongside the entertaining stories, there are also a few more thought-provoking ones, with an intentional educational message. None of the books is an academic treatise, but neither are they strictly children’s books. They make pleasant companions on a long, boring journey, or provide relaxation and refreshment during a holiday. Each book contains thirty warm, humorous, educational and entertaining stories about animals, suitable for both children and adults. The stories are short and each one ends with a joke, twist or punchline, allowing children to learn while having fun. Every story is brought to life by the charming, colourful illustrations of graphic artist Rita Flamm.
The fact that both the first and second volumes have already reached a second edition is a great source of happiness for me, because it means that what I hoped to achieve with them has been accomplished and the stories have found their audience. I could not ask for anything more rewarding.
